Dual screens Issue (MBPr 2014)

Hi,

I currently have two dell monitors (both vga only) and have bought 2 mini display to vga adapters for them.

When I put both thundrbolt adapters in, only one screen works for extending the desktop. If I mirror them all (I don't want to) all the monitors work where as before one of the monitors goes standby

How can I get it to extend for two monitors? I've got a 13" Retina MBP Mid 2014
