Im thinking about having dual HD's in my mac i plan to have everything on my SSD but movies, music, aperture library, and all media onto the other hard drive. I wanted to know is there a way to sort of redirect finder, for example if i move movies to the HDD then click it in finder it takes me to a folder on the HDD instead with all my movies stored instead of an empty one because iv moved them onto the HDD.

Hard to explain for me so any help would be appreciated, cheers.

I have that setup. I just delete the "Movies" folder from the sidebar and replace it with a Movies folder from my larger HDD. Music, I transfer my iTunes library to the new drive, Option+Click iTunes and have it open iTunes from that new source. Same with iPhoto/Aperture. It's relatively simple.

Oh i see, thanks very much for your help! Any recommendations on what SSD to get? thinking of 128gb samsung 830

Samsung 830 is, in my opinion, the most reliable and all around best performer for the price. I think your all set!

LeGacY X: is your HDD in your Optibay on your 15" MBP a SATA 2.0 or 3.0 drive? My current setup has a SATA 3.0 HDD in the main drive bay, but I want to move it to the Optibay so I can put a SATA 3.0 SSD in the main drive bay.
