Duet 2 Guitar Levels clipping at low input level?

Hi,

I just got the Duet 2 interface. I plugged in my guitar and see the input level goes from 0 to 65. At only level 7 when I strum the levels peak so high to the point of getting clipped. Is this normal?

I want to get a good tone and mess with amps etc in Logic but before I do this I want to make sure in Maestro its right and just inputting my guitar is set correctly

500 views? No replies? Any input please. Do any of you notice you have to keep your guitar input super low to get no clipping, is this normal?
