Ok call me stupid, but I can't find on the iPhone where you can control the point at which the song or video is playing (the timelime basically). On my nano, there is a line across the bottom of the screen and the current point is a dot on the line that moves as the file plays. You can drag this dot to anywhere on the line and the playback starts from there.

I can't find this on the iPhone for either audio or video, what am I missing or is this functionality just not there?

Up top there's a slider. (For music, tap the album art, and it appears)

For complete directions, http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iPod_touch_2.0_User_Guide.pdf (I choose the Touch guide simply because it's shorter in length)

Thanks!!

Awesome, thanks to all who replied so quickly. Knew it had to be there somewhere, was going nuts trying to figure it out. I wasn't tapping the screen to show the timeline.
