Hi guys,

Total noob switcher question here...
I have an mpeg1 file that's over an hour long, and I'd like to clip out a 20 minute segment and re-save it as mpeg1.....
Any free app to do this? I can't appear to import to imovie, and I can't figure out how to do it in final cut express (Just got it, and need to do this in a hurry).

Any help guys?

Ok in fcp express, hit apple I, then select the clip you want. Now drag clip to timeline from bin which should be your top left window. How go to the point u want to start from and hit I then the point u want to be the end of the 20 min segment and hit O. Now go to file - export- quicktime movie. That should be it.

Alternatively, in QuickTime Player you can highlight the section you want, Copy, New, Paste :)

I thought I could as well......I have quicktime pro...but no option to cut this....I do on actual quicktime files...but not this mpeg!
