Very brand new to Mac, and wasnt sure whether it was safe to insert the small 3" dvd from camcorder into the Imac DVD drive? If so, do I just stick it in?
Thanks in advance,
mac Gumby

I've never tried it, but i kno that apple highly advise NOT to insert anyhting other than the normal sized CD's/DVD's into their superdrives as anything else could get stuck in there.

Personally i wouldn't risk it

THanks!!!

Thank you all for replying, I'm so glad I asked y'all first!!
Second question - where can i read up on all these things i have to know about the mac? I have mac for dummies, but it doesnt say anything about basic stuff about not loading 3" dvds? I need a very very very basic guide, guess a 'dummy' knows a lot more than i do about macs!

Thanks again so much for your replies, sure appreciate it.

The manuals that come with it are basic, but some helpful tips in it. I think it does talk about the 3" cd/dvd's in there..

OK, I'm confused again....... Please bear with me for a minute.

Here is the original post in all its glory ...

What has confused me is how you guys knew that it wasn't a G4 iMac with a flat, tray loading DVD drive?
Just being nosy, lol

Probability theory gives a greater chance of it being slot load, given that only the G4 and earliest G3s were tray.

And from his "very new" comment, we can further deduce that the probability of him having bought a new (for him) used tray load iMac is even more slim.

5th dimensional logic is fun.
