My eMac 800 (ATI) has Panther installed but I would like to install Tiger which is on a DVD.
The major problem is that the eMac has a CD drive only.
I do not have access to an external DVD drive.
BUT, my Pismo has a DVD drive.
Can it be done?

Ta muchly,
Steve

I did something like that using Target Disk Mode between an iBook and a G4 PowerMac. I think I had Tiger already installed on the iBook though. I was basically cloning its drive to back it up to an empty third HDD on the PM as the iBook was going elsewhere.

Both of your computers luckily are qualified to use Target Disk Mode, so yes you can use your Pismo's DVD drive to install to your DVD-less eMac.

When using the instructions at Apple's Target Disk Mode page, your Pismo will be the one described as the "target" disk and the eMac will be the "host" computer.
