Dumb question though one I'm asking anyway.

When the aluminum MacBooks and MacBook Pros were introduced in 2008? Is it the same ones they're using now with the lone difference being that they were offered in 128 GB form three years ago vs. 256 GB now?

Physically they are the same dimensions, but some of the early Apple OEM SSDs did not support TRIM.
