I am having problems using USB audio between a mac mini and a Devialet digital amplifier.
The mac mini is headless, being controlled using screen sharing from an iMac.

After several hours use I get distortion. One temporary solution is to pause iTunes and then restart. This works ok for a while before the distortion reappears.

Perusing the console log this distortion seems to largely coincide with 'Dumping Gesture Focus Records' messages in the log.

There can be 100s of the Phase begin and end messages.

Does anyone know what these messages mean?

Is there some way of turning them off?

Why are they being logged anyway?

This happens with both 10.11 and 10.11.1. There was no problem with Yosemite.
