I have recently purchased a new MacBook Pro and would like to print double sided from it using my (rather old) Canon MP520. The problem is that the "double sided" option is greyed out.
I have performed some searches regarding this and have found answers regarding this problem with older printers. The issue seems to be that double sided printing with this printer is actually a software performed bit of magic, rather than something that the printer innately knows how to do. Windows was perfectly capable of doing this so I am thinking there must be some way to do this with my Mac too. The only option I currently have is to print odd sided pages first and then reinsert the paper and print the even ones.
It seems that using older drivers might work on other printers.
Can anyone provide any specifics on what I'd have to do to make this happen with an MP520?
