Duplicate contacts

Hi,

I have been trying to solve this problem for ages!

Basically, In my address book on my mac and on my iphone, all my contacts are duplicated. E.g i have created groups like 'family' 'work' etc, and they all appear twice in the groups list.

I've followed loads of tips and stuff in forums, but nothing seems to work.

All i want is to get rid of these duplicate groups & contacts.

If anyone has any advice or help it would be much appreciated.

I'm on mac pro lion 10.7.2 / iphone4S latest update / icloud (used to be on mobileme and i have merged)
