Duplicate email notifications on AW

I sometimes get duplicate notifications for the same email on my AW. It happened with my series 0 and is also happening with my series 3. I use gmail (G Suite) as my email provider and use the Apple Mail app on my phone. I don’t have duplicate notifications appearing on my phone, but I get duplicate email notifications on my watch probably 50% of the time.

I’ve read that this can happen for gmail because there’s a notification for the Inbox and a second notification for All Mail, but I don’t have All Mail set to sync with my phone, and if I did, I’d expect multiple notifications on my phone, and double notifications for all emails, not just some of them.

Is this happening to anyone else? Is there a way to fix it?

I think this is more related to gmail itself and how the server syncs with non google clients. For eg. I get duplicate sent items on the apple mail client even when I send it just once. I’m not sure if the recipient gets duplicate emails or not.

That’s so odd. I don’t think I’ve seen that particular issue.
