I’ve searched for an answer to this, and it looks like it goes back at least a decade. Couldn’t find a fix.

Since I got my 12 on Monday, I’m getting two notifications for every email I receive. Two when they come through and two in the Notification Center.

I‘m using a Gmail account in the default mail app. When I’m actually in the mail app, there are no duplicates.

Also, I set up the 12 with an XR backup. Never had this issue since the original iPhone.

A little help? Thanks.

Have you tried just removing all Mail accounts and re-adding them?

Interesting. I deleted my Gmail account, did a hard restart, and in settings it still said Gmail was the default account. Even though it didn’t actually show up in the list of accounts.

So I added it (went through the Google login process) and it said it was already added. Weirdness.

I’ll see what happens. Thanks for the tip.

Yeah could be a glitch with iCloud syncing or something. Either way, if it doesn't solve the issue, I would just essentially wipe and reset the mail app -- delete all accounts and everything, and reset it from scratch. Hopefully that solves!
