While using my iPad a few minutes ago I experienced an odd error in which there were duplicate home screen icons in the top left corner of the homescreen. I was able to move the icons freely onto any area of the screen. My iPad is not jailbroken. I too screenshots of the error. I am using a first gen iPad 3G if it makes any difference.

Try a Reset: hold down the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons simultaneously for ~10sec, ignore the slide to power off, the iPad will then perform a Reset. There is No data loss in performing this Reset.

The error went away shortly (about three minutes) after occurring, but Im curious as to whether or not anyone else has ever seen this issue or knows what may have caused it. After the error went away all of my icons were rearranged in a different order, but other than that I haven't noticed anything out of place.
