Duplicate iphone messages

Hello Ron,
1. What you're dealing with is actually duplicate notifications for Messages. The text itself isn't replicated in the chat history, but the notifications are repeated.
To fix this, open the Settings app and go to: Notifications > Messages > Repeat Alerts.
Once you're there, set Repeat Alerts to Never.
Otherwise, you can hide alerts for specific chats within the Messages app.
2. If you'd like your data to be synced across your Apple devices, you'll need to set up iCloud.
