I've only noticed this behaviour since Yosemite, so I'm wondering if it's just my install or it;s a bug to report.
I have a folder on a networked Synology NAS set to mount at startup (it's got all my media on it) and all is fine. That is until I access that mount via the Shared Servers part of the Open/Save dialog box - or the Finder in general really - in which case I end up with a second copy of that mount on my desktop, called the same but an OS name of Media-1 instead of Media. This wasn't happening on Mavericks. If I accessed the share via the Finder the OS knew the mount was already there and just accessed the already mounted share without launching a duplicate.
Now, one seems to be mounting as an SMB and one as an AFP which I'm guessing is causing the issue? Would turning off the Windows File Service on the Synology maybe fix this?
