I've got duplicate identical "ON MY MAC" folders in Mail, using Leopard. Any ideas on how to fix this? :)

I had this problem too with duplicate "On My Mac" sections in Mail. Found the following fix posted by Wes Adams on the Apple discussion forum:

The easiest way to get rid of the duplicate is to just move "On My Mac" up in the list. Just grab it and move it to, lets say, above the "Trash" folder. The duplicate will vanish, then you can move it back if you want. The duplicate will still be gone. I don't know why, but this works.

THanks! :)

Looks like 10.5.1 might also have a solution:

Resolves an issue with syncing Mail accounts with .Mac in which multiple On My Mac folders appear in the Mailbox pane.

However I tried this first before upgrading to 10.5.1 and it worked. :)

Thanks!

Thank you for the help

Thank you very much for the insight into this fix. I remember the days when these forums were a place to get items like this resolved fairly quickly. Nowadays, they seem to be too self centered on what do I do, help me. Thanks again and I hope one day the forums can return to their previous glory.

Can't speak to the past but this fix was awesome. :)
