Duplicate songs on iPhone

I noticed that songs on some albums that I've purchased via iTunes show up twice on the iPhone 4S but only show up once on iTunes on my laptop. What can I do to get rid of the duplicates on the iPhone?

Deleting your music from your device and resync should work

Not 100% sure but could it be the same song in 2 different playlists? Not sure how that works but would it download the same song for each playlist?

this has happened to me before. I find that deleting and re-syncing sometimes corrects it however you may want to check where the files are stored cause you may have duplicates there.
