Durable case with buttons exposed?

A lot if slim cases cover the hardware volume buttons and I kinda want the buttons to be shown. What are the benefits in covering the buttons on the iPhone?

Also if the buttons are exposed I find myself having to pick and claw to access the power or volume buttons. I hate that.
