... but I dropped it. Only very minor cosmetic damage. None to the screen.

I'm also in South Korea.

Think I could get some help in a reasonable amount of time from Apple?

the thing is, most of the iphone's have dust behind the screen

every iphone I have seen has 1-3 small specks of dust, i have never seen a perfect iphone

My first iphone had bad light leakage, dead pixels and no dust.

my new one is perfect but there are two pieces of dust, thankfully they are not very centered so they are not annoying

I think the best thing you can do is try to live with it.. you may have to go through a lot of trouble just to get a replacement phone that is just as bad

btw looks like you are having fun in korea :D

I've had 6 iPhones, including the first generation, and I have never seen a speck of dust behind any of the screens. What does this even look like?

with my first gen iphone there is dust caught around/under the edges of the home button ... but i´ve never seen it und the screen anywhere else

I had dust behind the screen and the Genius Bar just swapped it.

So, although you are in South Korea, might be worth seeing if Apple can help you out.

I had dust behind the glass on my first iPhone just next to the home button. Haven't noticed any on my replacement for dead pixels.
