just bought a brand new iphone yesterday. Upon inspecting it I have dust on the upper left corner. No clue how it got there :( . Anyway since I bought a brand new iphone yesterday will apple replace it with a refurb or a brand new unit? Instead of replacing it can they just fix it?

i am very anal about mine. I dropped mine the 2nd day i had it. it had a little nick on the back. i took it in the next day and told them that it shuts off randomly and i have to keep resetting it to get out of apps. they said no problem and went in the back and got me a new one. the only thing wrong with it was that it had a nick on the back, which they didnt realize. just tell them its not working properly.

THIEF

I wouldn't call him thief since he did pay for his iPhone. However, people should learn to be responsible for their actions. If you dropped it then you should live with or pay to get it fixed if it bothers you too much. It was you who dented it, not apple

Today while sitting in the sun light and on my iPhone, I have about 20 specs of dust under screen. A little piece of hair at the bottom of the screen. I've always had a dead pixel since day one.

I've said this before, but to get rid of dust:

Keep it in your pocket all day while you're up and about and make sure that it's always facing the same way when you put it in your pocket. Eventually, the dust moves its way to the (top/bottom) of the screen and goes off of the screen. It takes about a month to do.

I've had my iPod touch 1G since the end of November '07 and after taking it in a bright car ride yesterday I noticed that there is massive amounts of dust under the screen. do you think they would replace my iPod if they saw that? and would they replace it with a 1G or a 2G? :)

If its covered by warranty, then visit/call an Apple store and check with them.
Of course you'll get an iPod Touch 1G if they'd ever replace it, not the second generation.

update:

apple exchange with no question ask but know I have a dead pixel. Back to Apple store!
