So with my past three or so iPhones, once it came time to sell them I've always discovered lots of micro-scratches on their stainless steel bands after removing whatever case they were wearing. It always seems to have been caused by dust creeping into the case in between the stainless steel band and the case.

This time I plan on using a clear skin on the stainless steel band. Anyone know of any cases with enough flex or give that can fit on the phone with a clear skin over the stainless steel band?

If you don’t mind me asking, which clear skin do you plan on using for the bands?

I've ordered a set from XtremeSkins. dbrand also makes them. Neither company will be shipping their 12 Pro Max skins until around next week though.

Older post, but I found my Caudabe Sheath to be flexible and loose enough for this, and also a clear Insignia (Best Buy house brand) TPU case also worked. I've also had success with a Spigen TPU case and one of their black rubber cases. It's often a tight fit but it works. Sometimes it's worth buying a few cases and trying them all. Out of two or three TPU cases, you'll likely have good luck with at least one. Anything that's advertised as being flexible TPU all over and one piece will often give enough flex to work. I plan on getting a 12 Mini and getting a skin and screen protector and buying another Caudabe Sheath. I just need to figure out where to get a skin first. Have used Armor Suit, Best Skins Ever and Slickwraps. I think I remember having tons of ordering and delivery issues with the latter. Anyway, it's also really important to let the wrap adhere for 24 hours or so before attempting to put a case on. If it hasn't fully cured, you risk totally ruining the corners when attempting to fit the case on.
