No idea how you can get a scratch under the glass, but Apple will replace it for $200. Sounds like it may be time for an upgrade anyway. :)

i know it's time for an upgrade, but my wallet don't have enough money for a new one:(

actually this is my dad, but i he just got an iphone 4 so i got this one.

Why wasn't this dealt with whilst the phone was still in warranty?

Apple would have happily fixed it for you.

yes you can replace it, but its quite some work to do, look at this video first, and u can order the screen for around 10 from ebay.

P.S remember to be caution with the home button cable connector, i broke mine when i was replacing my 3gs screen.

My 3g phone has the same issue. I never got dust under the glass until they replaced my screen because of the white spot issues. They have replaced it two times but the dust still comes through.
