I remember Leo LaPorte talking about this a long time ago (back in the Jaguar days), but how can I play a DVD as my desktop? Isn't there some sort of utility for that?

I use 'Save Hollywood' which allows to set any movie as a screensaver(and I have set the apple startup movie, looks pretty cool  ) . You may want to try that.

SaveHollywood is a great app. for playing movies as a screensaver however your gonna need to rip the movie from the dvd first. I do know how to make it your desktop though. I know an app. that lets you make a screensaver your desktop though.

Really? What is it?

Backlight 2 will let you use any screensaver on your Mac as your desktop. I'm using it right now.

I also use SaveHollywood to run movies as a screensaver. Mostly I have ripped and compressed lots of music videos and Apple ads so that they randomly play when I trigger the screensaver.

These are both great apps!
