Duff-Man says....I like DVD Hunter - seems to do what I need it to, has a companion iPad/iPhone app that it'll sync with, and it's free (donationware)...oh yeah!

I use DVDPedia. Has a nice feature where you can use your Mac's camera to scan in the barcode to make new movie entries.
