I am looking to buy a DVD burner. I have been looking at the LaCie burner but it says that you must have a minimum of 500 CPU chip. Can anyone recommend a burner that would work with a 400?

I picked up a Pioneer DVR-107 DVD+/-RW from OWC. It's an internal drive that burns DVD+/-RW discs at 8X. I'm running iLife '04 with no problems on my Dual 533, OS X 10.3.5 recognizes the drive just fine. They're out of stock of the 107s right now, but the DVR-106 or DVR-108 should work fine for you. You might not be able to use iLife '04, but OWC has a bunch of other software (iLife '03, Dragon Burn, Toast) that should do the trick.
