DVD Burner for MBP Retina 15"

Hello,

I am looking for a DVD Burner for the 15" MBPr.

I am interested in opinions of those users who did not buy the USB SuperDrive .

In particular:
* A DVD drive that costs less than the USB SuperDrive
* A DVD drive that does not require an external power source
* A DVD drive who does not require a second USB power source.

Does such a thing exist? Or is Apple's burner the only way to go?

I looked on Newegg, and for the few models out there that are cheaper, most reviews indicate that it uses a second USB power source. That's kind of annoying since the USB ports on the MBPr are on opposite sides of the case.

Reviews say that the instructions state to use 2 USB ports but that it works fine with one. Positive reviews from a Macbook Air owner and a Retina Macbook Pro owner. Only 30 bucks.

Usually when using a external DVD drive, only one USB needs to be plugged in when reading a disk such as playing a movie. When burning a CD/DVD, you will need both USB plugged in for the extra BUS power.

I bought the Samsung BluRay/DVD drive (www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006B7R9QE/) and it works fine connected to one USB port of my rMBP. However, I can't say that I have burned any discs that way.
