Hi guys,

I have some homevideos on DVD's that I created a while back and I wanted to make a couple copies for the family and I was wondering if there was any free software I could download that would let me copy does DVD's and play them on a DVD player.

Thanks

hey there,

you should use OSX's built in "Disk Utility" application. it can be found in Applications->Utilities.

its very good.
1. insert you DVD to copy
2. open Disk Utility
3. on the left list in Disk Utility, click the DVD when it comes up
4. Click the "Burn" button up the top.
5. away it goes :)

thanks... I did that but its asking me to select an image to burn

thats the thing.. I have it highlighted

there are two scenarios that will bring that up for this instance.
1. you havent inserted the DVD
or
2. you have selected the DVD drive itself and not the actual DVD that you have inserted. the picture that i have attached shows the DVD drive itself. i dont have a disc to insert - but the DVD will come below that and it will be indented. you need to click that indented DVD.

thats annoying, thanks for the picture :D

what you will have to do is click "New Image" from the menu to create the image - then once that is done you can click "Burn" and then navigate to the image you just made.

p.s. i may or may not have made a mistake about the process

Thanks.. What should I put for the image format nd Encryption?

is there any other way of doing this? because for some reason is not letting me do it with disk utility
