I need to transfer some files from Mac OS to Linux.

I burned a DVD only to discover that all of my files with names like

MyClass.java

got changed to

myclass.java

Now I know that Mac OS doesn't have proper case-sensitive filenames like Unix, but as the system manages to remember that I want to DISPLAY the filenames in a specific case, then is there a reason that it can't just use that name when burning to DVD?

After all, copying to a USB key retains the case of the filename..

Is there an option that I can select when burning to make this happen?

Thanks

Gordon

What format did you burn the DVD to?

I know UDF works (I use it in Toast all the time) - not sure how Disk Utility does it though.
