I'm using Toast to burn a dvd that I ripped to my hard drive using Mac the Ripper. I have a dual layer burner, am using dual layer discs, and have updated to Toast 6.1 which, according to the Roxio support site, is compatible with DL discs.

My problem is, the program gets about half-way through the burn, when the following error comes up:

Drive reported an error:
Sense key: MEDIUM ERROR
Sense code: 0x0C
WRITE ERROR

Does anyone know what I need to do? It's driving me crazy, and I have about 10 new coasters for my living room.

That error occurred when I used Popcorn and Tiger. I updated the software (see if there's an update for Toast) and then I switched media. Then it worked.

Any suggestions on media to use? My problem popped up while using Verbatim DL DVD-Rs.

I've got the same problem using Datawrite disks with the RITEK dye.

Has anyone managed to write successfully to DVD+R9 disks?

The burner in my Powermac is a Pioner 109.
