Hello,

I would like to make back up dvd's of my current collection. I recently just switched to a MBP from a PC. I used a program called DVD Fab Platinum. They are a windows only program. What would be a sufficient program alike dvd fab? I would like to get past the non copy allowed restriction on the dvd's.

MacTheRipper is probably the best for ripping a DVD without compressing it.

Toast is a very good DVD burning program but is not free.

Most people use Handbrake to compress the movies into a single movie file but if you are looking to copy this is probably not your best option.
