Hi all I'm a new mac user, just got my new macbook for christmas and I love it!! Not only is it my first mac but its my first computer with a DVD burner and I was wondering if anyone could give me the low down on DVD burning.. I'm trying to burn some DVDs and wondering what free software is out there that I could be using.. also does Nero come for mac?? thanks!

if you're talking about making DVD's, imovie and idvd come with the mac and work fine. If you are talking about copying DVD's (example, making backups of DVD's you've bought) you can use Mactheripper to strip out the copy protection, then use toast to burn the video ts file. Some people swear by handbrake, I've never used it. MTR is free, Toast is not.

Good luck.

Hi,
Sorry Nero is not available for Mac's ... as far as I know.

There is free burning software called "BURN' ...... try google.

I find Toast awesome, but it's not free
