DVD convert to ibook G4/ipod running 10.4.11

I found out today that Handbrake doesn't work with 10.4 OS X, only 10.5 and up.

I have a Ibook G4 800mhz with 10.4.11, is anyone using any other alternative to Handbrake that would be machine compatible.
Looking to convert a few 10-30 min kid show DVDs to Ibook/ipod touch for my kids.
Any DVD longer than 30min would take an awful long time to convert.
