I'm relatively new to the Mac world and I was wondering if there are any quality free DVD copy programs out.
I am aware of Handbrake and Mac the Ripper but I am seeking a "one touch copy" program like DVD clone for PC.
I've heard Roxio Toas is excellent but I would rather not spend money simply to back up my dvds.

I bought DVD2One to back mine up. It was about $40-50 but worth it. And I still have to use MTR to create the folder first. But I may be wrong on that.

Finder can burn MTR'd DVDs no need to spend $ on burning software - use the $60 saved on DTOX to buy some quality +R DL discs (I'd recommend Verbatim with Azo dye).

I'm working on a Core Duo Macbook with only a single layer burner.
Is there a program that will allow me to burn movies that are over 2 hours in content onto a single layer DVD?

yes dvd2one. I use mtr to extract the main feature only and use dvd2one to burn a slightly compressed (sometimes no compression - depending on movie length), deselecting all but 1 audio track to minimize compression and I get a great quality backup that is movie only. I keep my originals safe and play the backups which is great when you have kids, nephews, and pets. If I want to see bonus features, I pull out the original.

This is EXACTLY how I do it. Works very well.

Not many free apps that are one click. FastDVDCopy works but around $100, it cost a bit too much for most.

Good luck.

i have DVD with a bunch of files on it, i want to make a copy of it. How would i go about doing this?
Thanks
