Hi,
I just want the lowdown on copying a DVD back up for my private use??
I have bought quite a large collection of DVD's and I am sick of not being able to back some of them up to disk!!???
I have loaned out some to friend's and they have come back with "kid goo" and
some, not at all...I think I have the right to back up ALL of my PURCHASED DVD'S...I just bought Saw III, Mac the Ripper will not copy it, Apocolipto, same...Letters From Iwo Jima...fine...????
What are the regulations reguarding this, why can you back up with some...and not the others????
Can anyone clarify the rules....???
Thank you

First the Federal goverment disagrees with you. Just by breaking the DVD encryption, you have broken the law. Fair or not, that's the law.

Second, strange that you have that problem with MactheRipper. What version are you using? You are sure you are ripping DVDs and not HDs or BRs?

I forgot, the only exception would seem to be content that is public domain or you own the production rights to.

For MTR turn off the pre Screen / Pre Scan stuff and you should be good to go....otherwise just search on the movie title and MTR or "MacTheRipper"

Spoke toooo sooon!

...not working, still is freezing...???...any more help out there????
