DVD drive fault

Early 2008 MacBook Pro - A1260

Any idea's. DVD drive has stopped working.
When a disc is loaded in it spins up for a short while, and then the disc is ejected.

Still seen in the hardware listing and no errors shown.

What dvd models can be used in the event that i have to replace
the original?
