Failure to calibrate laser power level? & A medium write error.

I know that there are or were discussion about these, but being 2009 has anyone come up with a solid solution to these issues?

If you search the error code that comes up you would know replacement drive is necessary.

Try changing the brand of DVD used as I have had this in the past and it seemed to work for me.

Yeah see Memorex worked in the past and when I got my DL Windata and it liked it, but when I put a Memorex in + or - that phrase pops up.
