long-time lurker, first time poster.
I just installed XP on my new Santa Rosa MBP, and the DVD drive refuses to operate in DMA mode.
If I select DMA mode, XP will throw an "I/O Error" any time I insert a CD or DVD. Switching the drive to PIO mode will read the disc, but now I'm dealing with 50%+ CPU utilization.
This is with the Boot Camp 1.4 drivers installed. I previously had a "1st gen" Intel MBP running Vista under BC 1.3, and never had this issue.
Anyone else face this before, and suggestions on how to fix it?
Thanks much...
