A couple questions I can't find answers to:
1: If you never set the region code in DVD player (so you'd always get the message "Since this is your first time playing a disc...") and never use DVD player at all, does playing a DVD in eg. VLC automatically set the region code on the drive's firmware or not? (specifically for the Matshita drives in the new Macbooks)
2: Is there any way of finding out the drive's region code, OS X's region code, and a DVD disc's region code without using DVD Player?
