Since iMac doesn't come w/a DVD burner/reader, any suggestions out there when buying for 27" iMac? Is the Apple USB Superdrive good/worthwhile? See only 3/5 stars on Apple.com, yet 4.7/5 on Best Buy and several on Amazon with 4.5/5 or so....

Don't feel obligated to go with Apple, so appreciate any feedback/suggestions.

I have owned a couple external drives to go with my 27" iMac. Apple Superdrive has been the most dependable. Yes a bit more money, but also no problems with it. I have had the cheaper drives and one has failed, the other is flaky.

You can get a blu-ray drive for a similar price as that apple drive. Pioneer and Toshiba make good drives, but you should research the available models.
