I have a DVD, X-Files Season 9, disc 1. It has trouble playing on my iMac and MacBook, but it will play perfectly on my MBP purchased last July. Anyone know why? All are running Leopard with all the latest updates.

I had the same problem when I use to have a Mac Pismo Laptop. The DVD player just got to the point where it would not read the DVD. I had this happen twice, I had another one go bad too. Sometimes, IN MY OPNION, Apple uses cheap parts. Example, the power supply puck that came with these laptops. It kept getting a short in the power connector on the puck. Apple would not do anything about it until they had a class action lawsuit for this same issue. Then there solution was a 25 dollar credit to the Apple Store which did not come close to replacing the cost of these pucks. What's my point?

The DVD player is probably in the same situation. Cheap parts on the older Mac's and have just stop working.

Just my thoughts
