DVD Movies import for Final Cut

Hello, I am trying to become a Movie Trailer Editor, and I need a little practice. I was wonder how I can take my DVD and import them in final cut to edit a trailer. I have try using handbreak, but that I had to export it as a AVI file in quicktime and it just takes to long and it is very bad picture quality. Any help will be great.

I would use mac the ripper to first decode the movie then use visual hub in the DV mode. If you don't own visual hub it is defiantly worth the $20
