Hello,

I am planning on get the new 27" iMac but I honestly dont see the point in buying the external Optical Drive. I read somewhere that I can use another computer that has a Optical Drive to install software onto computers that does not.

I hope I can coz I dont want to buy iWorks again when I still have 4 licenses left.

So um yea can someone tell if it is possible and if it is easier doing it that way.

Oh I have a 2010 Mac Book Pro btw!

Thanks.

Thanks,

Thats the answer I wanted lol. Saves alot of money...more for my iMac haha.

Thanks.

No problem....That drive I bought just collects dust...I installed MS Office for Mac with it...That's it...I don't even know if it burns discs as it should..:D It will come in handy for my next door neighbour though, as his new imac has no optical drive, and he will be looking to build a music library...I can see it going on long term loan out!
