I've got a 13" MBP, running snow leopard, and for the past couple of weeks, I've been watching DVDs on it. Didn't watch DVDs on it before, so I have no idea if this problem is new or not. When I pop a DVD into the drive, it usually plays up to the main menu, but then when I make my selection to play the movie, the DVD Player program crashes. It doesn't happen every time, I can watch my DVDs, but I usually have to go through the process of restarting it a couple of times. It also makes some noises when it tries to play the DVD before crashing, so I'm not sure if it's possible for a hardware fault to cause the software to crash. Wanted to post my question here before I went into the Apple Store to use my Apple Care.

Same machine, same issue

I am experiencing the same problem. I tried to use Front Row instead but I still have some crashes, and they are harder to get out of. Would definitely appreciate some help if anyone has solved this problem.
