DVD Player Menu won't go away

I installed a utility that would make the menu bar disappear on a hot key. I didn't use it, forgot about it, deleted it... I remember they wanted me to pay to renew it, but since I wasn't using it, I didn't want to pay.

And now DVD Player shows the menu bar even in Full Screen.

I tried the plist.info trick in MacWorld

but it has no effect.

There has to be a way to fix this. If they could break it, there has to be a fix. Some global property somewhere?
