DVD Player Will Not Show Video on External Display

I just wanted to check with folks here who are using the current revision of the MacBook Pro 15"/17". Does DVD Player.app refuse to display video if you use an external display hooked up via DisplayPort --> DVI?

I get audio and a black screen in the Viewer. If I switch to the internal monitor only it works peachy. I've tried it on 2 DVDs and dumping the VIDEO_TS directory to disk with the same, irritating result.
