DVD Player won't automatically start up...

All of a sudden, the DVD Player app won't automatically load up upon DVD insertion. Under Preferences, the correct options are checked off ("When a disc is inserted: Start playing disc")

I'm currently using a PowerBook G4, Panter, DVD Player version 4.0...

Anyone else running into this problem?

Long shot: Have you tried repairing permissions...?

Seems to work in the most unlikely of cases...

try looking at system preferences, CDs & DVDs, then at the bottom "When you insert a video DVD:..." and make sure Open with DVD Player is selected. The preferences for DVD Player are only for when you open DVD player, not for when you put a DVD into your computer
