a better place
I just been playing back a few studio ghibli films (porco rosso, howls moving castle) and when I stoped the disc. Instead of a black screen with the white DVD Player + Apple Logo. Instead out of the black faded a lovely shot of each of those films...

Is this a new feature. Customised stop screen, dvd permiting?

Of no real consequence, but surprised me nether the less. :D :D

I think you're referring to what is known as Jackets -- here's a pretty good article on how to make them.

DVD Studio Pro 4 supports there creation directly; other authoring packages don't, eg. Adobe Encore DVD [the piece of tat I'm unfortunately more accustomed to!]

Oh... I want to see what it looks like.

Can you screenshot it or take a picture?

Wait... I don't think you can screenshot anything while a DVD is running, so a picture?

I generally put these on the DVDs I author, as I think it's a nice touch. The Apple DVD player supports them, as do some (but seemingly not most) set-top players.

Nice isn't it? My Sony DVD player does this also. Its a 5 DVD changer so its nice when you change disks the image from the DVD comes up so you can see what DVD is in the changer. Only works on some DVDs however.

I love Porco Rosco, not howl's moving castle as much but Rosco friggen rocks ^_^

And i noticed the Jackets with my Mezzo discs

They re-released Totoro (alway's my favorite) this month, so it's now in anamorphic and they've redone the vocals. The dust bunny's are now the soot gremlins

I love all the studio ghibli films, I still have a couple on laserdisc, and have all of the dvd's so far.... :) :) :)

Mezzo is a genuis...
