i have a . mov file (quicktime Movie) file that i exported after some editing in imovie, how do i convert it so i can burn in to a dvd, so i can play it on a DVD player?? what program ( free one) , (i know toast can do it, and i'll get that soon) but please anyone know a free grogram that can do this??

iDVD should do the job, I think

Another relevant question: QT (Pro?) gives me the option to export as (among many other things) a DV stream. What's the difference between that and the original .mov, and is it better to export to that before using in iDVD?

Nope. Just open your iMovie Project, click Share, iDVD, make a pretty menu and burn the disc.

That's from iMovie. We're talking about a .mov file. Let's assume the original iMovie file has been trashed.
