DVD Problem with MB

Hey gang, I need some help here. I'll apologize up front for being a newbie to the MAC world... Now the question... I'm trying to play DVD's on my MB and to no avail. They insert fine the DVD clicks a little bit and spits it out. I installed Leopard from this drive.. I just can't seem to figure out what the problem might be.... any thoughts?

I had this problem on my old PB 12 inch, in the end Apple replaced the optical drive......
